New Zealand is fortunate insofar as we are one of only a few countries in the world where the net proceeds of gaming in licenced venues are returned to the community.
A minimum of 40% of gross gaming proceeds is required by law to go back to the community by the way of grants.
During 2015/16, Infinity Foundation generated 50% of gross gaming proceeds for New Zealand communities. We are incredibly proud to have exceeded the minimum rate of return by 25% – an outstanding demonstration of our commitment to our stakeholders.
Approximately 24% goes to the government in duties, fees and levies. The balance goes to the venues that host the gaming machines and around 5.5% is required administer our Trust – which is one of the most efficient in New Zealand.
