Infinity Foundation accepts DIA licence condition

The Directors of Infinity Foundation, have now withdrawn their appeal and unanimously agreed to accept the licence condition unilaterally imposed by the DIA in November 09.

Infinity Foundation had adhered to the condition since last November, despite lodging the appeal.  The condition prevents any grant funding being given by Infinity to four specified racing clubs.

Infinity was created in 2006, long after the time the events which concerned the Department are said to have occurred in 2005.  Infinity Foundation wish to assure the public that at no time do they consider that they have breached any gambling legislation.  "The decision to withdraw is a principled, pragmatic, and prudent decision based on our desire to maximise returns to the community through our grants in accordance with the purpose for which the Society operates, and to minimise our costs in doing so," said Peter Dennehy, Chairman.

"We have always endeavoured to comply with all our obligations and wish to maintain our co-operative relationship with the Department of Internal Affairs who regulate the gaming industry ".

Infinity Foundation is a gaming society with a primary focus on supporting sport and youth.  We continue to support many other worthy causes as funds allow.
